Lies

Smoke, mirrors, sleight of hand, all make a mockery of the truth. While the perpetrators may succeed in their deception, the danger is when the deceiver himself falls for it!

Why is it easier to prevaricate? Why is it attractive to distort the picture? What is wrong with it in the first place? Struggles have always yielded fine results, though a lot of pain must have gone into it. But nothing compares to the joy of knowing you 'fought" a worthy cause, no matter the cost.

Shortcuts, denials, they have led us to seek out alternate routes to dealing with challenges.

I have told a few lies myself, and while they rolled off sweetly from the tongue, they always left a bitter after-taste. So, I strive to tell harmless lies. Stuff like, saying "No problem" when there is. You can call that privacy, or marking time, wating for the wind to change direction.

Lately, a friend of mine, looked me in the eye, feigning all sincerity and told a blatant lie!!! It hit like nothing had ever hit. I never knew the "bull's eye" was inserted in my bones. But it is ok. No wahala. Tells me about human frailty and how one should not expect anything decent from any one. Better be impressed than horribly shocked. What was that saying? "Better to err on the path of caution..." Good point.

Keep firing

Arms crooked at the elbow...fingers steady from practice, hovering on the trigger...I pause. Lower my hand a bit. I want to shoot from the hip!

What is happiness? How can you find happiness in a romantic relationship? If you say finances, I'll disagree completely. I have been there with lots of money, and other time as broke as Wacko J. While money provided instant comfort, saved stress, it never really meant happiness. Then when flat, problems seem to girate from anywhere, without warning, up in your face! I still want to understand it. Cos now, I'm a little bit confused on what to expect. are women always assessing your pockets and potentials to have deeper pockets?

I want to know. I need to understand. Let me identify the enemy, then my strategy will be tailored towards elimination or avoidance. Help me out here!
